After the apocalypse, many people found themselves with new abilities that manipulated parts of nature. Fire, water, wind, earth, and even for some, electricity. The abilities are limited to weakened versions, and all are common except for electricity. As plasma is the least common substance on the earth, so it is with people. As of right now, there are two open slots for electricity. The abilities are open to interpretation but keep in mind that we don't want overpowered characters! Stay within reason.
Fire: Arguably the most dangerous, it is also the weakest ability. Most people with this one can only ignite small fires, although it is still more than enough to ignite a candle. Unless applied to something flammable, the flames die within moments.
Water: This doesn't include the ability to control the weather, but it can be pulled from the particles in the air as long as there is something for it to gather onto, like the user's hand. Users can even make themselves resistant too it, for example being able to keep dry in the rain and in shallow water.
Wind: It isn't limited to just being able to cause a breeze on a hot day, but can be used to knock small items around. This is far from levitation, as something can't just be floated toward a character. Sound, for example, can be amplified or quieted to certain extents.
Earth: These users can break small rocks and find it easier to grow plant-life, whether it's crops or trees. They are sensitive to the natural ground, able to detect vibrations if they are strong enough. Some users are even attuned to the wildlife and find it easier to interact with animals.
Electricity: Not much is known about this ability to the general population, since it's rare. It can't control lightning or anything dramatic like that. Light bulbs can be powered when placed on a user's finger. When combined with water, this power becomes extremely difficult to control, and rather than being magnified by the water, the user may find themselves "shorting out". Static is the most common form of this ability.
